A Journey to the Soul

Hello, I'm Briana Kamiko Fujii (she/her), and I'm thrilled to welcome you to Nutria Doula Care!

​

Based in the beautiful Bay Area, California, I am a birth doula and photographer with ancestral roots tracing back to the lands of Japan and Mexico.  I attended my first birth in 2018, and since then, I've been wholeheartedly dedicated to supporting mothers and their babies through this profound and sacred journey.

​

My passion for birth work stems from a lifelong desire to nurture and care for others.  As a child, I played the role of "mommy" to my many baby dolls, learning the art of love and nurturing from my mother.  Becoming an aunt at the age of six also fueled my enthusiasm for supporting and caring for infants.  By the age of ten, after welcoming another niece, I knew that my path would involve working with babies and children.

Later in life, as I navigated through college, I found myself at a crossroads, realizing that I had been living a life I thought was right but felt disconnected from my true self.  This sparked an identity crisis that led me on a journey back to self-discovery and healing. 

 

Living with intention, in ceremony, and embracing self-love, I found my purpose in Nutria Doula Care.  For me, birth is a ceremony, a sacred transformation, and I honor that profound sacredness.  My primary focus is to champion and assist mothers and babies, fostering secure environments that facilitate healing for mothers and infants throughout every stage.

While I may not yet be a mother, I bring to you a wealth of nurturing qualities – I am a listener, a supporter, a guide, a companion, and a friend.  In my doula practice, I blend traditional practices with modern approaches to offer you a holistic and personalized experience. My commitment is to shower you with love, providing empathy, compassion, advocacy, and empowerment throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.
